Jessica Doyle Hooper

Jessica Doyle Hooper began her career by serving as a probation officer for the Davidson County Juvenile Court, where she was responsible for handling neglect and dependency cases, custody cases, community court, and foster care review boards. Jessica continued her work in juvenile justice with the Administrative Office of the Tennessee Supreme Court as its juvenile courts program specialist, and later, as its juvenile court services attorney. She concentrated her efforts on staffing and representing the Tennessee Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.

In 2006, Jessica accepted a position as an assistant public defender for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Defender’s Office, where she represented children alleged to be victims of abuse or neglect as guardian ad litem in the Davidson County Juvenile Court.

In 2009, Jessica entered the private practice and joined the law firm of Honeycutt & Doyle, PLLC. Today, she concentrates her practice primarily in family and juvenile law.

Jessica received her bachelor’s degree in criminology from East Tennessee State University, where she received a full academic scholarship. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the Nashville School of Law and was the recipient of the Honorable Joseph S. Daniel Scholarship.

Jessica is the President of the board of directors for Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee (PCAT), and also serves on the board of directors for Nashville’s Margaret Maddox Family YMCA, where she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008.

Jessica was honored with the “Top 40 Under 40” award by the Tennessean newspaper in 2005 for her public service work in Middle Tennessee. She was also named a Role Model by the Eating Disorder Coalition of Tennessee in 2009.

In addition to representing juvenile and domestic law clients throughout Middle Tennessee, Jessica teaches numerous courses on juvenile law, including the juvenile law curriculum at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. Jessica served as the keynote speaker at the Exchange Club Family Center’s annual event, “Wednesday’s Child,” in 2009. She also frequently serves as a substitute judicial officer at the Davidson County Juvenile Court.

Jessica’s passion for children and families, coupled with her vast experience in custody matters, enables her to advocate realistically and powerfully for families in crisis.
